Resonant Currents | is a salon-style evening of experimental sound at Headlands Center for the Arts, featuring performances by Wu Zhuoling, yi yang, and SNOWW. Together, these artists bring distinct voices from China’s dynamic experimental sound scene - both from within and across its borders - building a sonic bridge between Chinese sound art practices and international audiences. Through genre-fluid compositions and immersive listening, the program explores how sound mediates relationships with ecology, collective memory, and individual perception.

Set against the raw quiet of the Marin Headlands, the evening invites deep listening and sensory attunement. A curated wine pairing by Lanthanide Wines accompanies the experience - each selection chosen in dialogue with the sonic arc of the program.

*Presented by Unfolding Ground, with support from VinusClub and Headlands Center for the Arts. This is a purely non-profit, invite-only salon. All tickets are donation-based. Complimentary admission is available upon request for local artists, creative professionals, and winemakers.

Featuring sound artists:

1. Wu Zhuoling is one of China’s leading ambient musicians, known for merging sonic subtlety with emotional depth. Her work spans sound sculpture, improvisation, and electronic production, and has been featured at museums, festivals, and art spaces across China and internationally.

2. yi yang is an multidisciplinary artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area, working across sound and conceptual design. His practice explores how sensory system - sonic, visual, or otherwise - shape the ways we perceive, interpret, and inhabit the world. yi is also a widely followed cultural voice on Chinese social media.

3. SNOWW is a pioneering electronic music producer whose genre-defying sets blend ambient, experimental club, and techno. Based in China, her work has been featured at major festivals including Strawberry, MIDI, and SXSW. As a trailblazer in China’s underground scene, she is also a key figure in feminist electronic music, having founded the country’s first all-women experimental electronic ensemble.

A Sensorial Pairing by Lanthanide Wines
For this evening, Lanthanide has curated a sensorial wine pairing in response to the sonic arc of the program - each selection chosen to resonate with the textures, tempo, and emotional tonality of the performances.
